Psalm 93 – The Eternal Reign of the LORD

Published October 4, 2023 by Rev. Pete Van't Hoff in Devotions

Psalm 93 knows the burdens you’ve been carrying. But first, the psalmist want you to know your God.

1 The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord is clothed,
He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.

Now that you know Him, cry out to Him!

The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.

Now that you have cried out to Him, rest in Him.

The Lord on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.

Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
Lord, forever.

Let us pray.

Dear Lord and heavenly Father,

Help us to know You. It is only in the midst of the storms in our lives, that a firm knowledge of who You are, shall see us through. Knowing You means knowing Your Son Jesus, who just as He calmed the wind and the waves with His disciples, He alone provides salvation. May the Holy Spirit work in us Christ’s storm calming effects. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
