Psalm 117 – Let All Peoples Praise the LORD

Published March 13, 2024 by Rev. Pete Van't Hoff in Devotions

Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm in the Bible, and yet, profound for the world to consider.

1 Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles!
Laud Him, all you peoples!
For His merciful kindness is great toward us,
And the truth of the Lord endures forever.

Praise the Lord!

The psalm is a call to the world to be thankful to LORD for the world that we have and the providence of His grace upon it. Even in our fallen state, let us praise the LORD. And then let the Christian share the old old story of Jesus and His love. And let the world praise the LORD forever more. This is His truth, offered to you. Let us pray.

Dear Lord and heavenly Father,

May You ever be praised; yes, for our creation and for the world in which we live; but also for our redemption in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, worked in us through the Holy Spirit. Praise the Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
